Abstract: Soft tissue sarcomas (STS) of the trunk are rare malignancies characterized by diverse involvement of tissues, organs, and pathological subtypes, along with non-specific clinical manifestations. Surgical resection remains the primary treatment modality, though postoperative defects necessitate repair and reconstruction. With advancements in surgical techniques, reconstructive materials, and computer-assisted technologies, significant progress has been achieved in both tumor resection and defect management for STS of the trunk. This paper comprehensively reviews the epidemiological features, surgical approaches, and recent advancements in defect reconstruction for STS of the trunk.
