| Over the past half century, following the national cancer prevention and control strategy, Gansu Wuwei Cancer Hospital has developed from a grassroots prevention and control office into a Grade A tertiary cancer specialized hospital integrating medical treatment, scientific research, teaching and prevention. Focusing on high-incidence tumors such as gastric cancer, the hospital has built a full-chain prevention and control system covering screening, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, pioneered the “”Wuwei Model“” for upper gastrointestinal cancer prevention and control, and promoted a significant decline in regional cancer incidence and mortality. This paper systematically reviews the hospital's development from a grassroots prevention and control institution to a specialized diagnosis and treatment highland, summarizes the achievements and experiences in the construction of cancer prevention and control system, and looks forward to the future development direction, providing practical reference for cancer prevention and control work in underdeveloped western regions. |
