| Abstract: [Objective] To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of lung cancer incidence and mortality in Yang zhong City from 2014 to 2023. [Methods] According to the lung cancer incidence and death data and public security population data from 2014 to 2023 in the tumor registration area of Yang zhong City, the Chinese tumor registration platform, the standardized incidence rate and mortality of lung cancer were calculated by using the standard age composition of the 2000 national population census. The R language software was used to analyze the incidence rate and mortality of lung cancer in each year, by age group and gender, and the annual percentage change (APC) was used to analyze the trend of incidence rate and mortality with each year. [Results] From 2014 to 2023, there were a total of 1767 new cases of lung cancer and 1645 deaths in Yang zhong City. From 2014 to 2023, the standardized incidence rate of lung cancer increased from 17.5/100000 to 36.9/100000, with a statistically significant upward trend (APC=6.86%, P<0.05). The standardized incidence rate of both men and women showed an upward trend, and the increase rate of women (APC=13.69%) was higher than that of men (APC=3.15%). The standardized mortality rate of lung cancer increased from 13.3/100000 to 20.2/100000, and the upward trend was not statistically significant (APC=0.60%, P>0.05). The standardized mortality rate for males showed an upward trend, while the standardized mortality rate for females showed a relative downward trend, with no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). The risk of morbidity and mortality in men is higher than that in women. incidence rate and mortality increase with age. Conclusion] The incidence and mortality rate of lung cancer in Yang zhong City showed an upward trend from 2014 to 2023; The disease burden of males is higher than that of females, and it increases with age; According to the epidemiological characteristics of local lung cancer, appropriate comprehensive prevention and control measures should be taken to reduce the risk of lung cancer occurrence and death, thereby reducing the disease burden of lung cancer in Yang zhong City. |
