| Abstract: [Objective] To analyze the mortality rate of malignant tumors among residents in Yangzhong City from 2014 to 2023. [Methods] According to the cause of death monitoring in Yangzhong City from 2014 to 2023 and the data of permanent population over the years, the death rate of malignant tumors among residents in Yangzhong City was analyzed. Excel 2021, SPSS 21.0 software and Joinpoint model were used to calculate the crude mortality rate of malignant tumors, the standardized rate of Chinese population (referred to as the standard rate), the death component ratio, the order of death causes and the annual change percentage.
[Results] The crude mortality rate of malignant tumors in Yangzhong City from 2014 to 2023 was 316.83/100000, with a winning rate of 124.41/100000. The crude mortality rate of male malignant tumors was significantly higher than that of females. Gastric cancer is the leading cause of death among malignant tumors, with a crude mortality rate of 77.17/100000, followed by esophageal cancer, tracheal cancer, bronchial cancer, lung cancer, liver cancer, rectal cancer, etc. The top three malignant tumor deaths account for 71.12% of all malignant tumor deaths. The mortality rate of malignant tumors shows an upward trend with age, rapidly increasing after the age of 60, and reaching its peak in the age group of 85 and beyond. The death order of major malignant tumors varies among different age groups. The mortality rate of malignant tumors in the entire population and males shows an upward trend, while the mortality rate of malignant tumors in females shows a slight downward trend. [Conclusion] Yangzhong City is one of the high-risk areas for malignant tumors in China, with high mortality rates for gastric cancer, esophageal cancer, tracheal, bronchial, and lung cancer, which are the main types of cancer that need to be prioritized for prevention and control; According to the epidemiological characteristics of local malignant tumors, appropriate comprehensive prevention and control measures should be taken to reduce the risk of occurrence and death of malignant tumors, thereby reducing the disease burden of malignant tumors in Yangzhong City. |
