| This paper reviews the history and contributions of the Qidong Cancer Registry (QCR) since its establishment in 1972, focusing on its practical experience in building a cancer registry system from scratch, refining technical methods, reporting registration data, and advancing internationalization. By submitting data to the "Cancer Incidence in Five Continents" (CI5), it has also promoted the improvement of cancer registry technical quality. The accumulation and application of long-term cancer registry data have not only provided scientific evidence for the prevention and control of liver cancer and other cancers locally but also played a demonstration role in the development of the national cancer registry system, providing valuable experience for other regions. With the advancement of information technology, the digitization and networking of cancer registries will become the mainstream trend in the future. It is anticipated that the QCR will continue to make significant contributions to the development of cancer registration nationwide. |
